Hi, I’m Jen!

JenI live in rural Arizona with my husband Ammon, our five children and lots of dark chocolate. I attended Brigham Young University and received my B.A. in history, with a side of education and political science. I have loved being able to guide my children’s education in a variety of ways, including at times, homeschooling. I am a natural resource gatherer, and inspirational resources make me especially happy.

Reading is my happy place, and biographies, history and business classics with a side of clean Regency romance are my jam. In the past, I have been a volunteer and occasional contributor for the organization Power of Moms, a co-founder of youth robotics teams, and am currently a grant writer for a domestic violence shelter and mental health provider.

I believe that most parents want to raise good kids. But we live in a crazy world and we have our own weaknesses to deal with as well! I am a mother who is passionate about gathering inspiring resources for intentional families, and giving parents the tools they need to raise the heroes our world is looking for.

A sweet mom, who didn’t even know me, but recogn A sweet mom, who didn’t even know me, but recognized me since we live in a small town, stopped me in the grocery line to say something really kind about one of my kids. It touched my heart so much and totally made my day! When she was finishing up, she said, “Being a mom can be hard sometimes, so I always like to share the good things I see in their kids.” What a great lesson! (And you can bet that this lady suddenly felt like my best friend!) I want to do better- imagine if all the moms in the world supported each other like this! ❤️❤️❤️ #bethegood #sharethegood #lookforthegood #momssupportingmoms #youvegotgreatkids
What if we traded envy for gratitude for the happy What if we traded envy for gratitude for the happy circumstances of those around us?

We live in a world filled with envy and comparison. I feel it as much as any one. I live in a house that quite frankly, I get pretty embarrassed about sometimes. I watch people do their house renovations on social media and think about how much I would even love their “before” pictures. But I’m trying to change my thinking, and to teach my children, too. Teens especially can fall into the comparison trap, and by changing our attitude to one of gratitude for the good circumstances of others and for what we DO have, our hearts will feel happier and lighter. #gratitude #ImSoHappyForYou #love
